BEN SANDS: Hear Music

This song was written for my daughter, Kellie and sung for the first time at her wedding.

A few weeks before the wedding it seemed like a good idea to write a song as a gift to Kellie - and at the same time avoid making the dreaded "father-of-the-bride speech".  But as the time got shorter, I quickly realised it was one of the most emotionally difficult musical projects I'd ever undertaken - in the first instance to try to encapsulate all those thoughts, memories and feelings that accompany the marriage of your first daughter and, secondly, to actually try to sing the song to her on such an emotionally charged occasion!

Right up to the last minute, as I feverishly wrote and rewrote words, I had it in mind to scrap the whole idea and make a speech instead ... but I persevered ... and I think many parents will have a feel for what I was trying to say ... "Take my love with you ..."
